WHO: Adventurous Young People at least 10 years old and accompanied by a favorite older person such as a parent, uncle or aunt, or grand parent.
WHAT: Join a naturalist and a local radio producer for a sound adventure into the natural world.
Gather sounds for special public radio segments using sophisticated audio technology. With the guidance of an audio technician and a highly skilled naturalist, you will venture out into one of our region's important nature preserves to record the sounds of birds, animals and insects as well as environmental sounds like the wind in the trees and the burbling of a stream. You and your sound adventure will be featured on the LTTR web site and may be selected for airing on Interlochen Public Radio.
WHY: LTTR wants you and everyone else to learn more about the Grand Traverse Bay Watershed and our regional ecology. By recording sounds and mapping where those sounds were made, you can learn about the plants and animals that live in the watershed and share those sounds with others over the radio.
