Watershed Discovery

What do we mean by Watershed Discovery?

Discovery is a process where youth (ages 11-17) in teams or pairs join volunteer guides and science/technology experts to explore and document various aspects of their local watershed using state-of-the-art mapping and multimedia technology.  We expect that participants will learn both about technology and the science of the watershed.

With their captured media (digital sound, stills and video), they can work with producers to put together a short watershed story for publication (via radio, tv or web) or just contribute to the collected inventory of sights and sounds. The collection is used for content in the museum exhibit and to fill the digital watershed map.
